Ngāti koroki kahukura, ngāti ranginui
My vision is to create high quality, modern jewellery that honors both my Māori heritage and a deep respect for Papatuanuku (Mother Earth). Every piece is handcrafted here in my Waikato studio, where I use only locally sourced stones from Aotearoa New Zealand. These stones are carefully cut and carved by my hands, reflecting a connection to the land and the materials it provides. "I believe we must hold true respect for the gifts we take from Papatuanuku.”
Bold, vibrant, and versatile, each piece I create is more than just jewellery—it’s a taonga (treasure), designed to carry a story and connection to Aotearoa. My style is rooted in the rich traditions of our ancestors, reimagined for the modern world.
I studied jewellery design and manufacturing in Wellington before journeying to Te Wai Pounamu (the South Island) to immerse myself in the ancient art of stone carving, which is such an important part of our culture here in Aotearoa. This hands-on learning inspired me to teach myself the art of lapidary and faceting, allowing me to craft stones with precision and care. Every piece I create is a one-of-a-kind taonga, blending Māori history with modern techniques to create jewellery that is timeless, meaningful, and uniquely mine.
